My name is Joel Goertzen, and lawn care is genuinely in my blood.
Clean Cut Lawns was first established in 1999 by a member of our church family. My dad, Mark, saw the potential in it, bought the business in 2008, and turned it into a thriving residential operation right here in the Greenville area.
Growing up, I was out there with him from age 10 — learning the equipment, learning the craft, learning what it actually means to take care of someone's property the right way.
I spent several years doing mission work overseas, and when I returned in 2025, I came back to what I've always known: that there's something deeply satisfying about a yard that's been cared for well. I took the reins of Clean Cut Lawns and never looked back.
Two seasons in, we're now serving 45+ clients across Greenville, Ayden, and Winterville — and almost every one of them found us through a neighbor who couldn't stop talking about their lawn.
I got into this business because I love connecting with people, I love solving problems (Why is this section of turf struggling? What does this soil actually need?), and I love seeing a client pull into their driveway and feel genuinely proud of what they see.
That's why I show up to every job the way I do. That's the Clean Cut standard — and it's not going anywhere.
Genuine passion for the craft — This isn't a side gig. Lawn care is what our family has built, and it's what we know how to do well.
We do what's best for your lawn — Not too much fertilization. Not a quick fix that causes problems down the road. Just solid, responsible turf care.
Attention to detail — Joel personally visits every property before quoting. He notices the things other crews walk right past.
Reliability you can count on — 45+ clients. Word-of-mouth growth. A track record built on showing up and doing the job right.
Full-service, always — Our goal is to be your one call for everything your property needs — inside the fence and out.
